I really am starting to feel like everytime I get on here to post I'm sitting here wishing I was keeping up with my blog more regularly. I have to remember life is life and I will get around to it...eventually.
Lots have happened since I last posted. We repainted our entire living room, bought a few more pieces for the house, planted a few trees, gone to a bunch of baby showers and birthdays, and have barely had time to sit down and take a breather. Lots of life changes are upcoming and I'm trying to mentally prepare myself for them all.
Yesterday I went to my good friend Nicole's baby shower. It was adorable- tons of pink everywhere, itchy pink boas, and cakes and cookies galore. Little baby Elliott is going to be such a well dressed baby! I ended up picking her up a cute cupcake Life is Good blanket, a pink hair bow and pink socks from Janie and Jack, a tube of desitin, safety plugs for outlets, a boppy pillow cover, and a little bathing seat for bath time. Let me just say this week was my first venture into BABIES R US- Oh dear Lord I was overwhelmed! A tad bit excited to see all these baby things in one place, but most certainly overwhelmed. I must have walked around aimlessly for nearly 20mins before I felt I should start tackeling the registry. They do not make it easy let me tell you- half of everything was not where they said it would be on the registry, but thankfully I left with my few items.
Speaking of babies- EVERYONE is PREGGO! And let me tell you I hate the word preggo, sounds like the pasta sauce, but it is appropriate for the post. Lets see a list of my close girlfriends and acquaintances and those that are trying, pregnant or new moms:
Jessica- Baby Cole
Caroline- Trying
Nicole- Baby Elliott on her way
Yasmine- Baby Jaxon
Amy- Baby Braelyn on his way
Aimee- Baby Logan and trying again
Cheryl- Baby x on his or her way
Heather- not trying- one of the few
So as you can see a lot of my girls are there or on their way to baby land. I am really fortunate to have this great group so that when I become pregnant I will have a wealth of knowledge a phone call away. Now that being said I have some news....
No I'm not pregnant.
Well I am off to do the loads and loads of laundry I have waiting for me. Since Hubby is driving back from FL I plan to just putz around the house on this beautiful Sunday... maybe go for a walk. Oh and I should say I plan on losing some major poundage before I go to baby land because, well, my boobs can't get any bigger and my waist can't get any thicker and still put on the lbs for the baby. It just won't happen lol I won't let it lol So I will be joining my local gym tomorrow and I plan on picking up a scale today. If a depressing post comes after this one you will know I have faced the scale lol

Hello Babies
So I feel bad because I was going to bring my camera over to take a ton of pics of baby Jaxon, but I forgot once again. A friend of mine had him two weeks ago. He's so adorable and Yas is such a great mom. So she gave me her whole labor and delivery story which I always find so interesting. Caroline was also there and Nicole ended up coming over later. One thing I really realized was how I have NO NADDA NOTHING in experience with babies- especially newborns. Trust I know a ton about them, watch A Baby Story (not that that really counts lol), and read up on all the knowledge I can, but when it comes to holding little Jaxon I was kinda like a deer in the headlights lol I guess I was scared of not holding him right or supporting him right or I really don't know what the hell was my problem lol I ended up sitting in the same position with him till my arm was about ready to fall off. Maybe I was disappointed that I didn't feel like a natural with him? Whats all this Dan and I wanting a baby and I feel weird holding a newborn business about??? I think I just have had zilch for practice- I am an only child and all my friends are just now starting to have babies. Seriously everyone in our circle is having a baby or trying! And as we were sitting there one of my friends (I can't say who because with my luck someone will come across this blog and the news will be out) is PREGNANT!!! 6weeks along exactly! I was so excited I started getting teary eyed (Im such a marshmellow). I think I was also surprised because it happened to fast for them- where I have a few other friends who have been working on it for like 6months. I ended up leaving shortly after and I found myself wondering what this weird feeling was I was feeling- I mean I am rarely short on words and I just can't for the life of me express what I was feeling... it wasn't happiness.. it wasn't sadness... it just was. and it was weird.
I called Dan on the way home and told them so and so was expecting (he is high school friend with her hubby). He was shocked and excited and then promptly asked when we were getting pregnant. I changed the subject because I had no idea what this weird feeling was and didn't feel like really getting into it. Whats up with this? Ugh anyways I'm off to chill with my Real Housewives of NYC DVR shows (so excited about the reunion show tonight) and then I am going to pick up trash with the LKN Jr.s for a volunteer thing- fun fun.

Baby Fever
The baby fever is definitely setting in! And that of course brings with it a bounty of questions about whether or not we are anywhere near ready for a bundle of joy. Hubbs being six years older then me would have liked to have one YESTERDAY lol Although if I got pregnant now I would be of course over the moon- I get these questions running through my mind and can't seem to find the right answers for them:
The baby is forever- that cute baby will grown into an angstful teen..
I know I haven't accomplished all I need to in life as far as career goes- how will I do this with a baby on my hip?
Can we really afford a baby? I know this is such a common fear, but really who doesn't have that fear with this economy?
No more spontaneous trips- not like we do a ton of those anyways, but its nice knowing we have the freedom.
My body. I'm so out of shape and out of control with my eating now- I will more look like a blimp then a pregnant woman lol I know this is so irrational, but I truly want to be a really in shape mom and do not want to pass along my body issues to my child.
Another thing to take into account is that I do not know if these questions are my age popping up or simply the common insecure moments every woman has when thinking about a baby. I'm in my mid twenties- my hubbs and all of our friends are in their early thirties... All my life I have been much older for my age and actually get along better with my older girlfriends then most girls my age. I just wonder could this finally be my age playing into my decision or what?
Then I take another look at us and our little family that could be.... Hubbs will be a fabulous father and I know we would be amazing parents. We are such nesters and would love to be involved with our child and showing him or her all about life. I love the idea of people who do not change their life for their child, but welcome their child into their life and make it work.
I feel a lot better getting all this off my chest-still confused as all hell, but better- I'm off to get supplies for the LKN Jr.s meeting tonight and go for a walk with the poodles.

Late at night....
So its almost 2am and here I am watching an episode of "Intervention" and thinking I should really turn to a less depressing show, but the remote is across the room and I can't muster the energy. I really should just go to sleep, but my mind feels like its going a million miles a second. Mainly my thoughts are about the housing market...We thought we found our dream house (well the house we would build), but then today we ran across a foreclosure up the street from the lake house (although not on the lake). Its about $50,ooo LESS than what it would be to build the Magnolia. I am on the fence about it... it does remind me of a Florida house (which to me is a big fat negative) and its not as far south as I would like to be (it would be nice to be closer to friends and a younger crowd)... but its a foreclosure in a neighborhood of $260,000+ homes. A new kitchen and some hardwoods and this place could look fantastic. I'm guessing its just the fear of not being happy in this house.... I know I should feel like "this is it, its the one", but I wonder is there any other foreclosures out there better? I just don't know. Its nice to have a buyers market, but when there is so much to choose from how do you decide?
Other than worrying about the housing market I am looking forward to this week. My mother will be up here till Thursday or Friday and we did some great shopping at the Southpark mall. I found the light blue pepper shaker I have wanted forever on sale! 50% off! Very happy about that purchase. Mama found a great pink sweater at J.Crew and also bought two pillow shams at Pottery Barn. Wednesday night is the LKN Jr.s new member social and C and N are coming with me. Should be fun and I'm looking forward to getting more involved with these girls... they all seem very nice and outgoing. Friday night is N's birthday and we are all going out to eat and then to drinks at a local wine bar. Saturday we have Y's baby shower... can I tell you how excited I am for Y's baby Jaxon to arrive?? He's going to be adorable and I can't wait to see mama Y with him- she will be a wonderful mother... speaking of babies... I'm getting a serious case of baby fever...ugh now my brain really needs a rest. Good night....
